The Journal of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (August 2011) published an article where the authors reviewed 10 studies of Omega-3 fatty acid supplements for children with ADHD.
While it is not as effective as various medications in terms of results, the authors of the study concluded that: “Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation, particularly with higher doses of eicosapentaenoic acid, was modestly effective in the treatment of ADHD.”
It is good to have some research to bolster the anecdotal evidence of Omega-3 being an effective supplement for children with ADHD.
