The Learning Disabilities of Edmonton is looking for volunteers for their casino, taking place Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30 at the Yellowhead Casino. To volunteer, call Karen Disher, Project Manager, at 780-707-2085.
The funds raised allow LDEdmonton to offer the following programs and services:
- Social skills and recreation programs for toddlers, children, and adolescents;
- Professional development workshops for teachers, educational assistants, and tutors;
- Skills development for parents and caregivers of children with special needs;
- Support groups for persons living with a learning disability.
About one in ten people have a learning disability. Learning disabilities affect learning, employment, and social interaction. As with any disability, the earlier the intervention, the more likely the child will reach his or her potential. Help LDEdmonton to help others reach their potential.
